WELCOME TO OUR BLOG!
You were destined to find us as we were destined to find you.
Twin Spirit Tribe began with a vision that Co-Founder Elias Patras experienced while taking part in an apprenticeship program in Shamanic Studies with Rainbow Journeys, LLC, founded by Susan Lipshutz, LCSW and Dr. Tom Voitas. The program not only allowed Elias to come to understand the teachings of indigenous tribes but also to learn more about his own personal healing and how this could help others on their own journeys towards empowerment. It was very apparent to Elias that this perspective could make a difference in the gay community and find common threads within the straight community.
Elias and his life partner Gary came to start a retreat weekend whose purpose was to focus on self-love, self-discovery and self-awareness. Over time, the retreat weekends have been expanded to include gay and straight men and women. Some remarkable changes that focus on our commonalities as whole spiritual beings have empowered retreat participants and fostered connections and communication between the gay and straight communities. Since it is impossible to be on retreat all the time, we are starting this blog as a means of carrying on the conversation 24/7/365.

I'd like to say that Twin Spirit Tribe has really changed my life (for the better). If it were not for Elias and Gary's vision, I believe that my search for some Spiritual stability would still be an ongoing process. Not only have I found a different way of looking at our Earth, but I have found a group of wonderful new friends who all have amazing abilities to tap into my heart and show me how to celebrate me for myself. If anyone is ever on the fence about attending a Twin Spirit Tribe event or retreat, GO FOR IT! Our time here is too short to wonder if it will be the right thing for you, IT WILL BE!
ReplyDeleteTST, Elias and Gary found me at a time of transition in my life and introduced me to a wonderful group of people that share the same goal of understanding themselves better through community, shamanic studies, and spirituality. This is a great community of people and I am so proud to be a part of the Twin Spirit Tribe.
ReplyDeleteI am also incredibly grateful to Twin Spirit Tribe for the many positive techniques I have learned from the group. As a gay man it is sometimes difficult to develop healthy relationships with other gay men/women outside of a bar and this group fosters healthy relationships. I also greatly value the focus on building a community instead of a subculture. It is great to be able to express myself around straight people without feeling unsure or having to filter my conversation for someone else's comfort. Finally, the Spiritual Growth for me has been the absolute best part of this group. I have been given tools for my own development and can share it with others without conflicts to my upbringing. I hate to sound like an infomercial but there has been so much value for me participating this group and I am incredibly grateful to Elias and Gary for their efforts. Thank you!
